Kaya

My name is Meg Corby (Henry). I am a self taught Noongar Artist from Bunbury WA. I have been lucky to grown up on Wadani Boodja . I have been officially practising for two years. I have previously worked in the Indigenous Arts through Bunbury Regional Art Galleries.

My artwork is contemporary. I enjoy creating artworks that bring happiness, peace and harmony to people. The colours I use are influenced by our beautiful country and coastline. I’ve had the opportunity to travel throughout our stunning country, certain places hold a special place in my heart. I spend a lot of time daydreaming about the past and present, along the way designing pieces in my mind.

Aside from creating my own freestyle works. I do a lot of custom artworks where I work alongside clients to create a unique artworks that depict their story and represent their family/journey.

My family are scattered throughout Australia. My Mother is Murri born in Brisbane QLD and raised in Tweed Heads; and my Father is Noongar born in Wagin WA and raised throughout the Noongar Country. Our family include Davis/Henry/Mcguire/Blair/SmiIth/Curry.

My own little family also inspire so much of my work and creativity. I am blessed to have them.

Although I am new to the art scene I have had some great opportunities so far and hope for continued success in my future.

Have a beautiful day.
